My Blogging Personality:

Blogging is all about personality. Blogging creates a deep desire, a yearning in all bloggers to share their messages with the public. But what type of blogger am I going to be? What type of messages do I want to share? I cannot say for sure what type of blogger I want to be in the long run. Hell, I don’t even know who I’ll be in the long run. But I do know that at this moment in my life, my goal as a blogger is to release my opinions into the world and hopefully gain some response. If I don’t get any responses then I guess that I’m just talking to myself (hence the name).
I have a highly opinionated personality (which can often get me into trouble) and I simply love debating with people. For me it’s not about winning or losing an argument, it’s about learning and changing our minds about topics we thought we knew.
Serious issues can often become quite a bore to the average person especially when these issues are written in a very lengthy and serious fashion. This is why I want to approach my blogging in a humorous and energetic way to liven up discussions that would normally lead to heavy eyelids and stifled yawns. I like to look at the funny side of life while discussing issues that impact both students as well as the world – it just keeps things interesting.
I don’t wish to create a blog that preaches or only involves so-called ‘intellectuals’. I mean, let’s face it who want to read something that tells them what to do in confusing ‘academic language’? I, like so many others, want to question bloggers’ opinions and create debates with them and I therefore wish to create a blog that stimulates conversations with all sorts of readers which include students and your average run-of-the-mill person. I find that always harping on about deadly serious topics can become very dreary and in most cases we are not all trying to save the world, we sometimes we want to relax and chat about the latest movie or sport results.
Journalism and blogging is not only about reporting the facts on politicians or on the latest Hollywood scandal, it is also about creating stories from people and engaging them so that they will remain interested the topic you present to them. This is my aim: to find people with interesting stories and opinions through the use of blogging about topics that stimulate interest.
“Talking to Myself” is the perfect platform for me let my opinionated side loose on an audience that will hopefully challenge me and question everything that I write.
